Sculpture installed at Miraval Resort and Spa

I installed a piece today at Miraval Spa in Tucson.  They have quite a collection of sculpture and I'm proud to be included in the group.  My piece, and all the others, are for sale to their clients.

  1. I really appreciate this piece and took a few pictures from a distance while I was there last week. I did not get up close. Can you tell us more about the design?

  2. Hi TG,

    Thanks for your note.

My work develops organically. I have a large store of materials, and pieces seem to assemble themselves sometimes! It feels like the universe is with me then, and I created this piece as a large totem celebrating that cosmic connection. Aesthetically it is a meld of steampunk and Japanese modern but some people see Native American in it too.

The materials are all recycled and include saw blades, transmission parts, hand-made nuts, and scrap steel and wood. I love giving castoffs new life.

    Thanks again.

    1. I love it. And, I just glanced over a few articles of other's you have created, that this will be a new home for local bees? Interesting and very inspiring, thank you.
